Industrial Visit to Ashok Iron Plant-III
The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi organized an Industrial Visit to Ashok Iron Works Pvt. Ltd., Machhe Industrial Area, Belagavi on 21st February 2026 under the Association of Robotics Engineering (ARE). The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial manufacturing processes and real-time industrial practices.
During the visit, students explored Plant-III and observed various products manufactured by the company. The industry experts explained different stages of casting, machining operations, and quality control procedures followed in the production process. Students also visited the product display section where several industrial components were showcased and their applications in automotive and engineering sectors were discussed.
The visit provided valuable insights into real-world industrial operations and helped students connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications. The Department expresses sincere gratitude to the management and technical team of Ashok Iron Works Pvt. Ltd. for facilitating the visit and sharing their expertise with the students.
Interaction with Industry Mentor
The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management organized an interactive session with Dr. T. Ram Prabhu, DRDO, Bengaluru, who serves as the Industry Mentor for the department. The session aimed to provide students with valuable exposure to industry and research perspectives in emerging technological domains.
During the session, Dr. Ram Prabhu shared insightful thoughts on emerging technologies, research opportunities, and the real-world applications of robotics and automation in defence and advanced engineering sectors. His interaction helped students understand the growing importance of automation, artificial intelligence, and robotics in modern engineering solutions.
He also emphasized the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and continuous skill development for aspiring engineers. The interactive discussion encouraged students to explore advanced technologies and align their academic projects with real-world industrial and societal challenges.
Inaugural function of Association of Robotics and Automation Engineers -" Vruddhi-2K25"
The Department of Robotics & Automation Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi proudly inaugurated its Department Association “Vruddhi 2K25” on 28th October 2025, marking the beginning of a new phase of creativity, innovation, and technological excellence within the department.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sandeep Kulkarni, Project Manager at Infosys Limited, who shared inspiring insights with the students and encouraged them to embrace innovation and futuristic thinking in the field of robotics and automation.
The department expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Spoorti R. Patil, Director, SAEF, Shri Raju Joshi, Administrator, SAEF, and Dr. Anand B. Deshpande, Principal & Director, AITM, for their constant encouragement, support, and visionary guidance in making the event a success.
Workshop on IoT Fundamentals"
The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, in association with the Association of Robotics and Automation Engineering, organized a hands-on workshop on “IoT Fundamentals: Sensor Interfacing and Smart Connectivity”.
The workshop aimed to provide participants with a strong foundation in the Internet of Things (IoT), focusing on sensor and actuator integration, Arduino-based system design, and real-time cloud connectivity using platforms such as Blynk and ThingSpeak. Students were introduced to the concepts of IoT architecture, hardware interfacing, and real-time monitoring systems.
During the workshop, participants gained hands-on experience in working with sensors and actuators, understanding IoT concepts and applications, and implementing cloud connectivity for data monitoring and control. The session also included project demonstrations, source code sharing, and interactive discussions to clarify doubts and enhance practical understanding.
The workshop was conducted at the Seminar Hall on 22–23 September 2025 at 2:30 PM and provided valuable exposure to students in the field of smart connectivity and IoT-based system development.
Students Successfully Complete DRDO Internship in Drones and Robotics
Seven students from the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, successfully completed a 4-week internship at DRDO Bengaluru during August 2025 under the guidance of Dr. T. Ram Prabhu, Scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The internship focused on the cutting-edge domains of drones and robotics, providing students with practical exposure to aerial vehicle systems, autonomous navigation, and robotic control mechanisms.
This hands-on experience enhanced the students’ understanding of defence-grade robotics applications, system design, and innovation in unmanned systems, preparing them for advanced research and industry opportunities in the field of robotics and automation.

Awareness Program on Outcome Based Education
The Department of Robotics & Automation at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi conducted an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) awareness program on 23rd May 2025. Dr. Pooja V. Angolkar, Head of the Department, delivered an insightful session highlighting the importance of outcome-oriented learning, Bloom’s Taxonomy, assessment techniques, and the role of students in the accreditation process.
The session was well received by all students and served as a foundational step toward aligning their academic goals with industry-ready competencies. The initiative reflects AITM’s commitment to excellence in engineering education through student-centric approaches.
VISIT TO VTU SKILL CENTRE
On April 22, 2025, students from the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi visited the VTU Skill Centre, Machhe, Belagavi as part of their industrial exposure initiative. The students were guided by faculty members and welcomed by the technical staff at the centre.
The visit aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by providing hands-on exposure to advanced technologies such as industrial robotics, automation systems, and modern control modules. Practical demonstrations at the centre enabled students to understand real-world applications of robotics in manufacturing and process industries.
During the interaction, students explored systems including PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and robotic arms while engaging with instructors to clarify their queries. The visit served as an inspiring experience, motivating students to pursue innovative ideas and future projects aligned with Industry 4.0 technologies.
Such initiatives reflect the department’s commitment to providing practical exposure and preparing students to become industry-ready professionals equipped with modern technological skills.

The Eliminator X event consists of a series of traditional children’s games with an exciting twist. Participants must rely on quick thinking, strategy, and teamwork to survive each round and advance to the next stage. The games are designed to be challenging yet safe, with rules adapted to create a fun and engaging group experience for all participants.
The Robo Rush event focuses on building wireless bots that compete for speed on a designated track. Participants design and construct their own bots within specified dimensions and race to reach the finish line in the shortest time. This exciting competition is open to junior teams and offers attractive cash prizes for the winners.
The Crimson Clue game is an interactive role-playing activity designed to enhance critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. Participants are assigned unique characters with specific backgrounds and clues. One participant secretly plays the role of the murderer, while the others collaborate to solve the fictional crime by analyzing evidence, questioning fellow players, and drawing logical conclusions.

Faculty as Invited Speaker at Andaman Islands
Dr. Pooja V. Anagolkar, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, was invited as a speaker at the prestigious in-house training program organized by the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Hyderabad, held at Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 18th to 20th March 2025.
During the program, Dr. Anagolkar delivered expert lectures on the topics “Vision – Opportunity for Diversifying Fuel Usage and Fuel Alternatives” and “Environmental Impact of Alternative Fuels & Vehicle Technologies and Safety Issues”. Her sessions highlighted the importance of sustainable fuel technologies and their role in addressing environmental challenges and future mobility solutions.
The sessions were well appreciated by the participants and contributed significantly to discussions on sustainable energy, alternative fuels, and emerging vehicle technologies.
AITM Faculty Selected for Prestigious Women in Space and Allied Science Leadership Program
Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, takes immense pride in congratulating Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Dean of Academics, AITM, and Dr. Pooja V. Angolkar, Head of the Department of Robotics & Automation, AITM, for being selected among 30 participants across India for the prestigious Women in Space and Allied Science Leadership Program (WisLP).
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, New Delhi, in collaboration with the British Council, is organizing this four-day leadership training program at IIT Indore. The selection was based on their outstanding academic and research achievements, recognizing their significant contributions to engineering education and research.
This recognition reflects the institute’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, and active participation in national-level scientific initiatives.
Faculty as Expert Speaker
Dr. Pooja V. Angolkar, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Robotics & Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, delivered an esteemed guest lecture at the prestigious Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Hyderabad.The lecture was part of a comprehensive training program organized by the CTE Division at ESCI for the Newly Recruited Group ‘A’ Officers (Probationers) of the Military Engineer Services. The program aimed to equip officers with knowledge of emerging technologies and modern engineering practices.
On December 26, 2024, Dr. Pooja delivered an insightful session on “Introduction to Advanced Machine Tools, Additive Manufacturing & Artificial Intelligence.” Her presentation was highly appreciated by the participants for its depth of knowledge, clarity, and engaging delivery.
Students participate at AMTECH Expo
Students of Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi achieved a significant milestone by presenting a research poster at the prestigious AMTECH 2024 Expo held in Bengaluru. The poster highlighted their innovative research titled “Machine Learning-Based Triboinformatic Modeling and Wear Behavior Analysis of AlSi10Mg Alloy Printed Using Laser Powder Bed Fusion.”
The student team comprising Ashish K., Hari N., Sridhar, Gouri Naik, and Tejeshwini Yaragatti successfully showcased their work at the expo. The project was carried out under the expert guidance of Dr. Pooja V. Anagolkar, Dr. Anand Deshpande, and Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni.

Visit to Shri Maulidevi Ammana Temple, Kanakumbi
The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi organized a visit to Shri Mauli Devi Ammana Temple, Kanakumbi as part of the AICTE Activity Points Programme and the institute’s Social Connect Responsibility initiative.
The visit aimed to encourage cultural awareness and community engagement among students while providing them an opportunity to experience the rich heritage and spiritual significance associated with the temple.

Faculty Development Program on "Research Publications and Ethics" organized by AITM
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, in association with the AITM ACM Chapter, successfully conducted a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the topic “Research Publication and Ethics.”
The program featured two insightful sessions. The first session titled “Research Ethics and Plagiarism” was delivered by Dr. D. H. Rao, Academic Advisor at AITM, who emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in research, addressing issues related to plagiarism, and following ethical standards in academic publishing.
The second session titled “Mastering Journal Paper Writing: Strategies for Success” was delivered by Dr. Pooja Angolkar, Head of the Department of Robotics and Automation at AITM. She shared practical insights on writing effective research papers and provided valuable strategies for faculty members aiming to publish in reputed and high-impact journals.

The event received an overwhelming response with enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines.
The hackathon began with an inspiring inaugural ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries and faculty members, setting the stage for a day dedicated to innovation, creativity, and technical excellence. Participants presented innovative ideas, demonstrated strong technical skills, and worked collaboratively in teams to develop solutions in the field of robotics and automation.
The event featured international collaboration with Wefaa Robotics, Singapore, providing students with valuable global exposure. All participants received certificates of participation, and exciting prizes were awarded to the winning teams for their exceptional performance and innovative solutions.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, in association with the AITM ACM Chapter, successfully organized Day 1 of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Research Publication and Ethics” on 23rd September 2024 in Seminar Hall-01 at AITM.
The program focused on enhancing awareness about research publications, ethical practices in research, and opportunities for securing research funding. The session was delivered by the esteemed resource person Dr. T. Ram Prabhu, Joint Director and Scientist at DRDO, Bengaluru, who shared valuable insights on maintaining high standards in academic research.
During the session, Dr. Ram Prabhu emphasized the importance of research funding and highlighted various schemes and opportunities available to researchers for securing financial support for their research projects.
The program was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Dean Academics, AITM; Dr. Kiran Potadar, Head of the Department of Mathematics; and Dr. Pooja Angolkar, Head of the Department of Robotics and Automation, along with Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and students of AITM.

Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
A symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics was conducted on 24th and 25th June 2022 at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi. The symposium was inaugurated by the Honorable Member of Parliament Smt. Mangal Angadi and Dr. B. E. Rangaswamy, Registrar Evaluation, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
The opening keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kavi Mahesh, Director of IIIT Dharwad, who shared valuable insights into emerging developments in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and their growing impact on modern technological advancements.
A technical session on “AI and Robotics in Automobile Applications” was delivered by Mr. Aravindraj A., Manager, Vehicle Attribute Engineering, Horiba India Pvt. Ltd., Pune. He explained the concept of self-driving cars and highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence in modern vehicular technologies.
Another session on “AI – Present and Future” was conducted by Mr. Ajay Kabadi, Founder and CEO of Docketrun Pvt. Ltd., Hubballi. The session included demonstrations of current AI applications through engaging videos and discussions on the future potential and advancements of artificial intelligence.
